One of the most longstanding and beneficial services at Lebanon Cardiology is our Pacemaker Clinic. Presently we are actively following over 600 patients. Our qualified staff of nurses and technicians evaluate the pacemakers by way of telephone checks and clinic visits. We make special effort to assure the longevity and effectiveness of the pacemaker and are always available to answer questions and give instructions on the use of the pacemaker transmitter, the device used for telephone checks.
There are many types of devices available for the treatment of heart rhythm disturbances, including pacemakers for slow heart rate and defibrillators for rapid heart rhythms. Modern pacemakers are now the size of a silver dollar-whereas 40 years ago pacemakers were the size of a small can of tuna fish. Amazing progress has obviously been made in this field. The services of our pacemaker clinic are available for our patients and other patient referrals.
